Baba Siddique murder: Mumbai Police deploy teams outside Maharashtra to locate suspects

The Mumbai Police has deployed five teams outside the Indian state of Maharashtra to locate the suspects involved in the murder of politician Baba Siddique, the news agency ANI reported on Tuesday (Nov 5).

The Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch said that weapons used to commit the crime came from Rajasthan. A total of five weapons had been recovered so far. 

Teams searching in Haryana for alleged mastermind

ANI reported that teams of the Mumbai Police were actively searching in Haryana for the alleged mastermind of Siddique’s murder. Till now, the crime branch has arrested a total of 15 accused of which 10 are in judicial custody.

Siddique, a former minister in Maharashtra, was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra on October 12. He was a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) – Ajit Pawar faction.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Baba Siddique’s murder, citing the politician’s close ties with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

Recently, a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida was arrested for issuing a death threat to Siddique’s son Zeeshan and Salman Khan.

Salman Khan gets another death threat

Salman Khan has received a death threat for a second time this week. The Mumbai Police received a threatening message against the actor allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The threat message demanded that Khan should pay $594,397 (Rs 5 crore) to stay alive.

The police said that the message came on WhatsApp on Monday, adding, that an investigation had been launched.
