Donald Trump inauguration LIVE Updates: Donald Trump, leader of the Republican Party, will take the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States on 20 January. The inauguration ceremony is set to be held inside the rotunda of the US Capitol building at 12:00 pm ET (5:00 pm GMT).
Who will attend the Trump Inauguration ceremony?
Prominent business leaders such as Tesla CEO and close Trump ally Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be at the inauguration. Reports also suggest that Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, will represent the tech industry. As per reports, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew is expected to be at the inauguration and will be seated with other prominent guests.
Although it is rare for foreign leaders to attend US presidential inaugurations, the last instance being in 1874, Argentine President Javier Milei and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will be present. India’s external affairs minister, S Jaishankar, will also attend. Other global attendees include China’s vice president and the foreign affairs ministers of Japan and Australia.
Additionally, former US presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama are expected to attend the occasion. Meanwhile, former first lady Michelle Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will not attend.
