Govt clears Rs 54,000 cr for defence acquisitions, shortens timelines

India’s Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved eight capital acquisition proposals worth 54 billion rupees. This move is part of celebrating 2025 as the year of reforms in the Ministry of Defense. The DAC has also approved new guidelines aimed at reducing timelines at various stages of the capital acquisition process to make it faster, more effective, and more efficient.
