The man, identified as Sabarish, was under alcohol’s influence when he decided to accept the challenge given to him by his friends.

According to media reports, the man and his friends had come out for drinks when they decided to burst some firecrackers to mark the festival of Diwali.

According to the challenge, the man’s friends dared him to sit on a cardboard box with a powerful firecracker kept beneath and promised to get him a new autorickshaw.

Here’s what the CCTV footage showed

In the disturbing CCTV footage, Sabarish was seen sitting on a rectangular box as his other friends surrounded him.

After that, one of his friends lit the end of the firecracker and everyone scooted from the place to ensure their safety.
