Mother’s plan to kill daughter backfires as hitman turns out to be daughter’s secret boyfriend
A 42-year-old woman named Alka from India’s Uttar Pradesh hired a hitman to kill her daughter but instead became his victim because, the hitman, identified as Subhash, turned out to be her daughter’s boyfriend, NDTV reported.
Subhash allegedly murdered Alka in exchange for a marriage proposal. The incident came to light on October 6 when Alka’s body was discovered in a millet field in Etah district, Uttar Pradesh.
On October 5, Alka had travelled to Etah to attend a court matter. When she failed to return by the evening, her husband, Ramakant, tried reaching her on her mobile, but it was switched off. He searched for her until Sunday evening when the police called him to identify a body.
After confirming her identity, Alka’s body was sent for a postmortem, and Ramakant complained about two men, Akhilesh and Aniket, from their village at Jasrathpur police station.
It was reported that these two men were also involved in luring and abducting Alka’s daughter. Akhilesh was arrested by the Naya Gaon police, and the underage girl was safely rescued and returned to her family.
After the incident, Alka sent her daughter to her maternal grandparents’ home. While there, the young girl developed a relationship with 38-year-old Subhash, a man who had previously served a 10-year prison sentence. Subhash provided her with a mobile phone so they could stay in contact.
Alka was distressed and frustrated by her daughter’s love affair. She decided to have her daughter killed, offering Subhash ₹50,000 ($594.27) to carry out the murder, unaware that he was the very man her daughter was involved with.
Subhash revealed Alka’s plan to her daughter. In response, the girl promised to marry him if he killed her mother instead. Together, they devised a plan, taking staged photos of Alka’s murder to deceive her. However, when Alka failed to pay the promised ₹50,000 ($594.27), Subhash invited her to Agra, where he, along with the daughter, met her.
From Agra, the three of them travelled to Etah and attended the Ramleela fair. After getting off near Aliganj, they took Alka to Nagla Chandan, where she was strangled to death, according to police reports. Both the daughter and her lover, Subhash, have since been arrested.
