‘Art can edure’
Nearly 3 decades after her mother was nominated at the Golden Globes, actress Fernanda Torres won Best Actress Drama for her performance in I’m Still Here beating over favourites like Nicole Kidman and Kate Winslet. She thanked her mother among others, who had been in the same room many years back for being nominated for a performance. “Art can endure,” said Torres.

Netflix series Bay Reindeer won Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture as creator and lead actor Richard Gadd accepted the award along with the cast and crew of the series wich is loosely based on Gadd’s life.
Meanwhile, Hacks won Best Musical/Comedy Series and during his acceptance speech, creator of the show Paul W Downs joked and urged Kate Winslet to not indulge Jean Smart into taking shots as they have a call time of 6 AM the next morning.

Demi Moore moved everyone in the room with her moving speech as she took home the Best Actress Motion Picture-Musical or Comedy for her comeback film The Substance. “I’ve been doing this for 45 years and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor,” said the emotional Moore as she accepted the award. “Today I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me, and for the gift of doing something I love, and being reminded that I do belong,” she added.

Comedian Nikki Glaser is set to make her hosting debut at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. Typically, the host begins the awards night with a monologue that looks back at the year that has been in the world of showbiz. Some jokes and jibes at the expense of stars are always made. But Glaser will be keeping out any kind of joke about Blake Lively and her ongoing legal tussle with her co-star and It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. Payal Kapadia to script history?
All eyes are on Payal Kapadia, whose film All We Imagine As Light has secured a nomination in the Best Film category along with award-season favourite Emilia Perez. Kapadia is also in the running for her work in the Best Director category. The film created history last year, becoming the first Indian film to win the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. The Malayalam/English/Hindi film is an Indo-French production and marks Kapadia’s debut as a feature film director. If Payal wins tonight, then she will be the first Indian director to be winning a Golden Globe.
